Aaliyah Dana Haaughton soared to fame after releasing the album she dubbed Age Ain't Nothing More Than a Number in 1994. When she was just 15 years old, the album earned Gold standing. The group's collaboration heavily influential to R. Kelly's music, made her a star. In the year 1996, Jermaine Durpri along with Timbaland worked together to create the second album of hers, One In A Million. The album included the song If Your Boyfriend only knew as the lead single one. Aaliyah's second album entitled One in a Million, was released in 1996. It included the first hit single"If You Girl Only Knew. Aaliyah was a part of the famous martial artist Jet-Li Romeo Must Die (2000) the action and romantic film. Joel Silver, the film producer, met her at the awards ceremony and kindly offered her the part. In 2002, she appeared in the vampire movie Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. The Matrix Sequels saw her playing Zee, after appearing in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions that same year. The actress uses Aarti Man and Aarti Mahumdar for her professional name. Though she initially had minor film and TV performances, her acting began becoming more popular in the turn of the century. Other notable work includes Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. The commercials she has done have been for big brands, like Volvo. The mother of her daughter resides in Los Angeles and is pursuing her acting.
